Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and vocalist. An attractive, clever and gifted actress, she's a great model for Asian actors who want to be big stars in Hollywood. An early string of success roles in a popular TV show made her popular for her role in the show in Ally McBeal, where she was Ling Woo. She translated her unexpected success into big screen roles in films like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The actress then gave an amazing performance in the role of Japanese criminal O'Ren Ishii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around this same time she appeared in box-office failures including Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started voicing the characters of animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason from Cashmere Mafia was a small role that didn't have any impact. Southland - a critically acclaimed crime drama that established her as a leading actress. Liu takes great care in selecting her roles, so she doesn't get typecast. She has taken on her Chinese heritage however she has not let them hinder her creative abilities.
